Judah vs Spinks, I had it 4 and 4 and the 9th went to Judah.
I knew Spinks would get beat, His training was way off and proved it tonight. Where was the JAB?????
:D
*oops*
I think this is the first time he has really been on top, his other 2 big fights he lost. I think the reason your hearing alot of praising of Judah is because he has alot of fans that stuck by him threw the two loses and always believed he could have a big moment like he did last night. Also alot people on this site and others have cracked on Judah, so his supporters(like myself)are living this victory up. I do think he deserves a spot in the top 10 p4p even if its 10 or 9.
I gladly accept your opinion, well put. Call me stubborn, but the only way I will accept someone saying Judah is at the top is if they didnt trash Spinks before the fight and A LOT!!! of people on this board thrashed Spinks and called him garbage and some who said that Judah is on top and the best blah blah blah, but if he beat a guy that they considered garbage how can he be on top?
Go Zab, like I said my hat is off to him.
I think the bragging and the constant threads of praising Judah and saying he is in the p4p best now can be questioned. Judah has done this numerous times lets wait and see how he defends his titles before we make a judgement, because this isnt the first time Zab has been on top.
Like a cookie he always crumbles.

No disrespect to Spinks but I think Judah is the overall better fighter and it showed last night. This came down to Zab being focused and not show boating, he came ready to take the titles and thats why he won. Zab has one attribute that Cory doesn't have and thats power.
Cory outboxed zab majority of the first fight, Spinks wasnt the same fighter he stopped moving.
No disrespect to Zab, but he has been in the same position now as before he gets hungry and does his job. When he gets to the top he crumbles....

Judah has some real power, you don't get that kind of power just from punching a bag, that kid probably did some swimming or underwater boxing training, naseem hamed style. the only weak punch I see from Judah is his 1-2 jab cross, if he would just do what his dad was telling him, lunge forward and dip his head to the left and get in there with them body shot then unleash the combo he would've won before round 4. the few times he followd his fathers instructions he'd always land a few shots, whereas when he'd step in with the 1-2 he'd usually miss. Only time he'd land the 1-2 is when he'd lunge with it, and spinks would already be on the run by the time he looked to follow up with power shots on it.
I was waiting for Zab's father to hit Zab in the chin when he was showing him how to punch. He hit the water bottle and I thought the guy holding it was going to get knocked out.

it was weird.
all of a sudden, Spinks decided to restrict his movement. he stopped moving as much, stopped boxing like he was in rounds 1-5. this happened after Judah got in some shots at the end of 7. it was as if spinks wanted a war. well he got one.
I said it before I'll say it again. the best defense is a quality offense
Supposedly during the press conference, Spinks stated that he could outslug Judah and that if he wanted to throw punches and make it a way then he will rightfully do so, because he was able to bang with him.
That was his downfall, Spinks wasnt focused and was trying to be the valiant knight and got knocked off his horse.
I got the press conference, I should watch it and see what was really said but it doesnt matter now though.

Judah's dad showing his son in the corner I think it was after round 2 or 3 he was showing Judah to lead to the left with his head, dip down and unleash that brutal Judah family combination, and he punched his trainer's water bottle accidentally with a right hook lol you know he wanted to see his son KO spinks in his hometown.
I think your taking this pretty well Spinksjinx, I havn't heard you make any irrational excuses or anything. But then again I wouldn't expect that from you because your one of the best users on the site and you tell it like it is.
I cant make any excuses or get angry, Zab capitalized on Spinks not moving and using his jab. Props to Judah no doubt about it for taking it to the champion.
Smart man on being a spinks fan.
Their is no shame in losing and losing to a top guy, Zab never really reached his full potential and he still hasnt...Lets see him defend those titles first.

I actally called it, I told my friend before the fight 9th Zab going to take Cory out. My friend was a Spinks fan, you should have seen his face in round 9. :D

Spinks has been exposed...no power, no chin DLH,ZOO,Shane, Magarito,Cintron would eat him for lunch. Zab showed the formula chase him cause he has no power and break him down.
Same formula for beating Roy Jones and other defensive fighters. Thats how you take the boxing away from a boxer and beat him, Mayorga did it to Forrest, Zab did it to Spinks, Johnson did it to Jones and the list goes on.....and on.....

Judah Wins Welterweight Crown By Tko9
JUDAH WINS WELTERWEIGHT CROWN BY TKO9
By Scott Shaffer
February 05, 2005 - Zab Judah made good on his promise to take the welterweight championship of the world back to Brooklyn. Judah ventured into Spinks' hometown of St. Louis and won undisputed recognition as the best 147-pounder world by ninth round technical knockout in front of more than 20,000 screaming Spinks fans. After a tactical first six rounds, Spinks may have caught a break at the end of the seventh round. He was hurt by Judah's punches and went down to the canvas. The call could have gone either way, but referee Armando Garcia ruled it a slip. The action intensified in the eighth, as Judah tried to walk through Spinks' jab to land power punches and Spinks responded with some good shots of his own. In the ninth round, Judah caught Spinks with an overhand left and then put him down with a right. Spinks got up, but his head was not clear, and Judah backed him against the ropes, raining punches on the soon-to-be ex-champ. Two times, Judah stopped punching and invited Garcia to stop the fight. The referee declined, but changed his mind after Judah landed one more big punch. The ending spoiled Spinks' homecoming to St. Louis after Spinks made a spectacular ring entrance accompanied by hip-hop star Nelly. Spinks and Judah entered the bout 1-2 in the Boxingtalk ratings, and will flip-flop positions. Tonight marked the first decisive loss of Spinks' career. His 34-3 record includes disputed decision losses to Michele Piccirillo and Antonio Diaz. Spinks made $1.2 million for the bout compared to a paltry $100,000 for Judah.
Judah: Perfect fight and Perfect Body
About a minute into the first round I said to my friend that if Judah fights like this, it's going to be hard for anyone to beat him. He came out fast and with just more energy and explosion. His body was like the perfect size. He looked like a littile rocket. The only one with a body like that is Mosley. Just looking at those 2 guys you just know they are explosive. It's like Lebron. When you look at him, you say that he has the perfect NBA body. If Zab can fight like this for 12 rounds and stay focus, he will be a tough fith for anyone. He still clowned around a littile too much but thats just Judah.
Another thing is his chin. I have always disagreed with people saying that he has a weak chin. He has been dropped a few times but has always got straight back up and that was probally the problem against Zoo. Most of the times he gets knocked down is just because he is off balance and gets caught with his hands down. Tito has been down alot also and Zoo has been down alot and been stopped but you guys never question there chin
