Really sorry for the not-so-nice title of this thread, but this was the exact words of respected boxing analyst Isaac Barrio of Hard Core Boxing on 1/20/2005:
In my eyes, Pacquiao successfully defeated Juan Manuel Marquez in a rematch that never actually took place inside the ring. Why? Because based on their first bout, Juan Manuel Marquez did not have the huevos (BALLS) to negotiate a rematch…and to me that constitutes Defeat.

Enough said... :D
if this is the case dude, why is he turining down the only fighter who is willing to fight his style? and you are one who's hating dude, so much hate on manny won't do you any good...
its just all in good fun. i like pac fans gettin all riled up over nothin.
okey buddy, but i am not discrediting EM or MAB here, like what i mentioned earlier, tactically they never gave JMM a shot to fight them ...
i also dont deny that both MAB & EM have the HUEVOS to fight anybody, but some ??? will always be on my head ...
but come to think of it maybe $$$ really speak louder ...
i guess for some...money makes the world go round! ;)
what i meant was erik & pac...sorry for the confusion.

i think at least once in their career both MAB & EM ignored or did not give JMM a shot, tactically a wise decision, maybe this two guys know a lot more than meets the eye ...
i also have to add only PAC had the huevos to face JMM right after MAB and now EM going up on weight, you can not find more huevos than that ...

if he chose to save his career...it's the same as being scared (to lose his career). don't you think? i mean real fighter like erik & mab wouldn't hesitate to put their pride, honor and carrer on the line just to prove they're the best of the best. now, that's a real career-defining move imho.

he is scared to lose against the pacman. pac has accepted to give him a rematch and he chickened out (period)!
jmm is never an elite fighter. he has never defeated any quality opposition. i'm sorry to say but at this point, he'll only be remembered as a technically sound fighter and a champion with zero, ziltch huevos.
AMEN!!!!! :p
and honestly, i cant understand the logic behind JMM camp's demands...to not fight Pacman for 750k,plus a shot at superstardom and respect, impress HBO, set up superfights with EM or MAB and all that, i mean all those rewards, i would jump at that opportunity. And now he will fight another patsy for what?maybe 300k?I dont know man, if its a career move, then its one VERY STUPID career move..Well,on the other hand, if he is only scared, then thats another story..hehe
People will always remember that the rematch didnt happen(twice for the record) because the difficulty came from the JMM camp.So if its a career move, or he is simply scared, we really dont know the truth here, but one thing is for sure, people will point their fingers at JMM and his handlers...
IF you read clubberlang's post, which i dont think you did, no one wants to fight jmm because of his style so it would take him longer to reach elite status.. again!! stop thinkin hes scared. since when is using your brain to think instead of using it as a punching bag make u scared. the man is being smart so stop hating.

if you care less about what others would have to say, dont feel like others cares much for yours.
i just love it when people just repeat what u've just said.
where's the career march there?

where's the career march there? you mean reject a rematch with Pac and take on maybe Salido or someone weaker? the only way i see to a better career is nothing else but through Pacman. after that if he wins then he can take on either MAB or EM. he can gain BIGGER name, BIGGER pay day, and BIGGER marketability. i would have taken Pac for those than clingin' on the titles. but what the heck, he just dont want to risk his title to Pacman ocz he knows that it'll be a giveaway. ;)
This is what's wrong with boxing. Why all of a sudden does beating Pac set up a supermatch with MAB or EM? MAB got whooped by Pac and EM just got whooped by MAB. Shouldn't JMM be fighting one of these guys in order to get to the real champ, Pac? Just doesn't make sense to me. And you guys sound so genuine that it does. It's similar to someone in the 80's saying "He needs to beat Tyson to set up a superbout with Spinks". BLAH BLAH!!!
yes i agree 100% but sadly people just want to see it as bitching out. its a career move not being scared.

Cheech, I like PacMan a lot but those are some funny pics. Anyway, I understand why JMM did not take the money or the fight. It was basically just to much risk and not enough reward. Pac proved he could beat him the first time and JMM did not want to take that chance because it would take him a long time to get back to the top and get big money fights. It's kind of like the situation Wright, Byrd and others have been in. They all just got styles that people don't want to deal with and if they lose they aint gonna get another shot for a long time. So in the end I can respect his decision and thank him because I wanted to see the Morales fight more anyways. JMM should try to fight MAB and the winner fight the PaMan vs. Morales winner.
Beating Pacquaio would generate tons of reward. Pacquiao is recognized by many as the best active fetherweight out there. A victory against him would skyrocket your name into superstradom. You will open up doors of oppurtunities should you be successfull. A win over Pac would pave the way for a Morales or barrera superbout, but he couldn't see this. And so he missed out on 2 big payday. His loss but to be honest with you, I don't think he minds misssing out on a February 26 fight agains Manny Pacquiao, I mean his nose just healed an all :D

not enough reward? that guy beat MAB (the big pay fighter/the people's champ)! what about having BIG name, BIGGER pay, and KEEPING/ADDING up his marketability? arent those more than the titles he's clingin on. if he wants to fight the Mexican legends and get big pay day, he need to beat Pacman first to prove that he is more worthy than Pacman in taking a fight with MAB or EM.
so? i could care less about what this guy thinks. no one knows what really happened in the marquez camp so everyone needs to shut up. its like talking without really knowing anything.
then why are you talking? does that mean you know everything? every posters has the right to express as much as you want to express your trash talkin'. so give them a break will yah. and one more thing, if you care less about what others would have to say, dont feel like others cares much for yours.
