Erik Morales? Brilliant! Not only did Erik Morales make it out of his first round against Manny Pacquiao in much better shape than did Marquez, but he also landed some good, hard shots of his own. It seemed that for every straight left that hit the man from Tijuana, he came back with some offense of his own, backing up the Filipino. Morales, the experienced veteran, kept himself under control, maintaining the role of boxer-puncher throughout the right, and it was apparent by the second round that his power was bothering Pacquiao. In the corner after six minutes, Pacman was spitting blood, a sight that would be followed later with coughing and throat clearing.

Pac may have lost to Morales but it wasn't that bad if you think of it, really. Morales only won by 2 nasty points!! And if it weren't for that head-'BUTT' by Morales on the 5th round, Pac wouldn't have gotten that nasty cut and he would have easily defeated Morales! Hey, even the American commentators that night agreed that it was a head-'butt'!!! so don't be so proud ok?! Anyway, for us, the Pacman is still our champ - he fought hard and gave his heart to the fight-it shows! we salute him! so next time, pls teach Morales to fight like a man!! :boxing: Teach Morales to fight like a man on an accidental headbutt? Ok. Pac-Man would not have won without the headbutt, until he learns to move out of the way of a controlling Morales jab hoping to simply overpower him, Pac will never beat Morales. Pac did all he could and lost, headbutt or not, he was being controlled by that jab.

I agree with jomapac, the only weakness in Pac's armor that night was the difference between his and Erik's boxing skills.

All great fighters will have a loss or two as part of their careers. It makes them stronger, better, and more experienced. Singsurat & Torrecampo did just that.
