Im surprised this hasnt been mentioned yet, Their is still a slim chance Rahman could open up that cut above his eye. While it is unlikely Vitali's face is sure to be suspect to that and Hasim MAY or may not go after that....Although that is another thing that worries me, majority of fighters who fight him will go after his face and not his body.
.
If you watch the VK LL fight, you'll see that what cut VK's eye is the lower part of LL's glove, where the tape is.. this type of material against someone's ridge above their eye with the power of a HW champ will surely cut the skin deep. WK's gash was from TOS' head. I'm not saying they are invincible, if anyone gets cut the easiest, it would probably be eastern european fighters... but I don't think opponents should rely on a cut on VK to win...
If VK pulls this off ,then the doubts should go away as far as his right to being the best HW out there right now.
Here is why:
Lewis got knocked out by the rock,if VK can take the rocks best punches and KO's the rock then no doubt he did what Lewis could not do.
Sorry man but even if Vitali destroy's Rahman, people will still find excuse's not to give credit to Vitali. You'll have people saying stuff like " What did you expect, Rahman is the same guy who got knocked out of the ring by a scrub like Maskaev". and blah blah blah.
....Wonder what all the Vit bashers will say when he knocks out Rahman? Will this finally earn him their respect? Personaly I don't think Rahman is a tough match for Vit and I think the fight will be lopsided. I just hope Rock comes into the fight in great shape so we don't have any excuses. It will be entertaining to watch and should be very interesting.
I agree that Rahman could make this fight very easy for Vitali depending to how he fights. I think the Rock needs to count on a KO this fight to win or he's lost in nmy opinion. He seems pretty lazy in the ring sometimes and his style looks sloppy but Rahman has proven how much of a tough cookie he is. Standing toe to toe with the Tuaman and knocking out Lennox the first fight.

If Vitali happens to beat Hasim Rahman come April, then I would hope to think that Vitali would take on Chris Byrd at this point. Provided they can come to terms with Don King though.
However in my opinion, I think Vitali should sign for options with Don King, like a 2 fight option plan that way Vitali will get his biggest paydays and he could steal the belts from the other champs in King's stable and then bolt by then he would have beat the top in the division and could branch off and hopefully their will be a new pool of contenders outside of Kings stable for Vitali to fight.
I think VK has the advantage. He really uses his size well and he did look better in the Williams fight (DR Frankistein no more?) but he is still rough. The rock will have to wade trough some junk to get to VK and land big punches. The Rock has a good chin - look at the fight with Sanders (that was nuts) - but I don't know if he has the skills to pay the bills against VK.
If Rahman comes in and fight like he is capible of he can stop VK. I hope this fight will get signed sealed and delivered because IMO it is just about the best heavyweight fight you can have right now. For an early pick I'll go with Rock via an early stoppage because I'm still not sold on if VK has the stamina to survive a hard fought heavyweight fight for twelve rounds.
Check out his record and see how many late KO he has. If that is not good stamina I don't what is.
I don't know if this fight is worth watching. This fight is as predictable as any HW fight happening lately. Vitali will knock out the Rock for sure and this will be another boring heavyweight fight. :o

what you cant pick against the guy because you think he is going to lose? you have to be a hater to pick against him? i dont hate him, but i think his size is really the reason he is so hard to fight, i think at some point he will be kayo'd, possibly by rahman
whoa, easy dude!!! :D
I was saying that because of previous posts from my memory...
I could care less who you pick or what makes him hard to fight / so good. 'to each their own' if you don't hate him, fine by me. if you do hate him, fine by me :)
if he convincingly wins his next fight / few fights, then the real haters will come out of the wood-work... and even then it still will be 'fine by me'.

Size and some decent skills are all Lewis ever had, and look how many "groupies" he has, even now. No one can argue the fact that Lewis' height and reach play a huge part in his success. I never thought that LL was an extraordinary fighter, nor do I think VK is, just two fighters that are able to make efficient use of their physical attributes. The only difference so far is VK has yet to be stopped by one punch on two separate occasions.
do you know his kickboxing fight record?
I do not, but I have e-mailed some people that mantain the K2 site, and I hope they respond and post a record of sorts on their site, together with picks, and videos, where available.
No, he does not kickbox anymore, but I am trying to trace his kickboxing fights at the moment. I will let you know if I get those videos.
do you know his kickboxing fight record?
do you have any pics of vitali kick boxing? does he still kick box and is he still champion? also what is his kick boxing record? i dont like vitali but it is pretty impressive to be a champ in two sports.

Vitali gets my respect for that dismantling of Danny Williams, Who gives a damn if Danny didnt come to fight and acted as a punching bag Vitali boxed beautifully.
As long as Rahman comes in shape and keeps his head down and works the body we could have a fight of the year candidate...It's a toss up due to Rahman having trouble in the past, He seems fit now and after those bum of the month tours he had done possibly he will get up for this one, Word of advice for Rahman DONT COME IN HEAVY!
He is going to come in above 240 as in Lewis fights.
No, he will not be KOed. He is a 5 time world champion in kickboxing (3 times professional + 2 times amateur). In boxing he had 100+ amateur fights and 30+ professional fights. He has never been KOed before. It is very unlikely he will be KOed any time soon.
