I would like to hear your opinions... Do you think a professional wrestler could make it in the boxing world? They are athletes, though it is a show, they do have to have power and stamina. They keep themselves in decent shape (for the most part) I do remember Alli taking on one that was an extremely boring match and it was Wrestler vs Boxer. I also remember Billy Gun from the WWF trying to make it as a boxer and a guy named Brian Clarke tried as well, neither went anywhere. I think a couple of them could, at least at the lighter weights. As far as HW, they may be so roided up and and bulky that they cant move quick enough. What do you think???

They have flexible bodies, big frames...that's about it!
Being a wrestler does not mean you have reflexes, nor speed, nor self control, not the mental ability to accept punishment to win. there are even good boxers who hate being punched and barely accept it, whatever there skills are.
And wrestlers are so big their stamina is shit and their muscles too stiff !
Anyone remember an old WWF wrestler called Ludvig Borga? His real name is Tony Halme and he boxed professionally at heavyweight after his wrestling career.

#4 - Wrestlemania XV | Butterbean Makes A Mockery Of Brawl For All
Ah, the Brawl For All, a novel idea from the mind of John Bradshaw that went to hell in a matter of weeks. You see, the concept of this tournament was for legitimate bad asses to get over through...well..being legitimate bad asses. But then came Bart "The Hammer" Gunn, and the world was never the same again.
Gunn's first round fight was against then-tag team partner Bob Holly, who is a tough guy, but the fight was non-descript. Then we move to round two and the historic night where Gunn knocked out "Dr. Death" Steve Williams. Williams had/has the reputation of being a MAJOR tough guy, but let's face it: he was old and out of shape. Tough or not, knocking him out wasn't all that impressive. So after that stunning "upset", McMahon saw dollar signs and proceeded to fix Gunn's remaining matches with the Godfather and Bradshaw in order to put him over big.
So then we get the blowoff to all of this nonsense: Wrestlemania 15's Brawl For All Match pitting Gunn against Toughman legend Butterbean. To this day, it's nearly impossible to figure out. Did Vince hate Bart and want him gone? Did he honestly think that a true "one hit wonder" was going to beat a professional boxer? Whatever the line of thinking was, it proved disasterous.
Gunn stayed concious for all of 34 seconds before Butterbean sent him to Never-Never land with one punch. The fans popped for it, but it's hard to believe that anyone was shocked by it. The introductions went longer than this match. The only thing it lasted longer than was Gunn's remaining time in the WWF.
This is definitely worth seeing just for the coolness of it all, but in hindsight, it was an embarassing moment that should've never disgraced the good name of Wrestlemania. Just another example of Vince's "genuis" not always being a good thing.
Danny Birdwell on the Brawl For All Finale:
Butterbean beats the hell out of Bart Gunn in the Brawl for All (WM 15) - Terrible match, terrible idea.
Bart later wrestled as Mike Barton (Japan & TNA)
His win in the Brawl for All Tournament of Steve Dr. Death Williams was an unscripted upset.
He couldn't touch Butterbean though.
I imagine the fight's on Grokster.

I guess when I saw Bart in TNA, he was just under a different name, not his birth name.
billy had-has a brother?
i never knew that
They were brothers or cousins or something in the storyline as the Smokin' Gunns.
This was before I started watching (though I did watch The Brawl for All live - I had never seen or heard of Butterbean before then)
so billy fought butterbean?
No it was the other Gunn. Bart.

It was Bart Gunn and I don't think they were legitimate professional bouts, rather they were part of a Brawl for All angle leading to Wrestlemania.
I could be wrong (if I am, someone will let me know), but I don't think Butterbean got an official 'W' for KOing him.
I think it was an "exhibition", though it was obviously not fixed, because it made the WWF's toughman champion look terrible.

remember ray mysterio jr from wcw. he was a little, quick, muscular guy with good agility and balance. i would have given him a decent chance to learn the skill of boxing.
hell nah

maybe they could do fine
if they trained for boxing

Yeah, after all the hype, and the tournament to determine an opponent, the fight went less than 2 min.
Vince McMahon was in talks with Lennox Lewis to set up a fight with Brock Lesnar, when Brock was just starting to get over and some of the WWE names (Hogan, Rock, Austin, Foley) were gone. Glad that didn't happen. Some boxers would have gone ahead and done it.
Wasn't Lewis offered like $7 million to do it too?

Nah, they wouldn't let him box with his mask on.

I sit corrected sir! Yes, I meant Bart. That was the end of his career. Billy was the assman. I remember Bart wasn't scripted to win either.
The onki vs ali was bad. Very boring but he did hurt Alis legs, they wer bruised up pretty bad.
Sorry, dude I have to correct you again. I saw Bart Gunn wrestle under presumably his real name vs. Perry Saturn on a NWA-TNA weekly pay-per-view in 2003.
You mean Bart Gunn, right? Who fought Butterbean in the Brawl for All...

& didn't Butterbean almost kill the guy ?
