An in shape moorer proved to be a pretty decent fighter, although he struggled those first six rounds. say he works on that and keeps in better shape, he can be a threat IMO. I think he could beat Brewster and give Byrd a fight and he showed he has KO power by knocking out a very solid-chinned and very highly regarded Jirov. Hell this may be a stretch but i think he would take it to toney. Your thoughts
Jirov is not a real heavy-wieght. And has never beaten a legitmate heavy-weight. I dont think Moorer can really compete against the top heavy-wieghts, hes too old and appeared to be slow. Jirov shouldn't be considered a litmus test for anybody north of 200lbs. I dont think this fight proved anything for Moorer, but did prove Jirov needs to move down or quit.
i don't think u can label someone for having a susept chin when they get ko'd by, Foreman,Tua, and Holyfield.
Yup. If Moorer can be in decent conditioning, I think he can make some noise again. Against some of the belt holders, he certainly has a chance, although his hopes seem pretty slim to me versus Vitali.
no more than top 10. hes an old man, vitali would destroy him, ruiz would hug him to a point victory, byrd would dance around him, brewster would be a decent fight. he should fight wlad, that would guage both fighters and both would have a lot to lose
I think Moorer just proved that Jirov is shot, not that Moorer is back. I feel that Jirov's tough wars with Toney and others have taken their tolls on The Tiger. Moorer will try to step up again, but will fail against the elite. He wouldn't exactly shame himself against Brewster or Byrd, though.
Jirov isn't shot. He is just not a heavyweight.

Moorer's victory said less about him, than it did Jirov.
Jirov, as a heavyweight, is overrated. His "moral" victory over
the mediocre Mesi...got a few too many folks excited, especially his Communist fanbase.
moorer cant beat any of the current champs.... his chin is still glass, so brewster, VK and maybe ruiz would all KO him.... i dont even think he'd beat williams....
Moorer is no where near the great fighter he used to be and caught Jirov with some good punches. Maybe he can milk a title shot from this win or another big fight but my hopes aren't held high for him. It's a shame really because i like the guy.
good luck...he is a fringe contender who had a lot of luck against jirov.....pay credit where is due, but he is far from top 10 contention...although well done to him for his latest performance.

But you can label him as having little to no chance of getting a belt by his loss to Eliseo Castillo.
It took Moorer 6-7 rounds to find his range and to be effective against Jirov. Maybe it was; he was just shaking the ring rust off, but if it takes him that long to get set he's not gonna last long against much of the competition today. I think a matchup against Toney would be interesting because Toney hasn't really fought any tough heavyweights and also to see if Moorer can step up to the next level. Great matchup, I pick Toney by majority decision. By the way BDBowe, I would love to see a Moorer-Bowe bout next year when Bowe recovers from his injury.
now that could make interesting...bowe/moorer. i relaly dont know how good of shape bowe is in though...from what i can see he isnt and prob shouldnt be boxing but who knows
his chin is suspect, and he is out of shape too much, he could win a title but i think he will get knocked out against anyone with a half decent punch

Gotta disagree. Even mediocre heavyweights will drill an even in shape Moorer into the floor. That's my opinion. No chin is no chin and he has no chin.
I say he will beat Ruiz within the next 8 months. That will make him a 3x Heavyweight Champ, and who here can talk smack about a 3x Champ?! ---- NOBODY :p
Almost all of you were saying Jirov was going to wax Moorers' ass in that fight, and most of you went on and on about how good Jirov was -- now that he lost he sucks huh? Yeah right -- fair weathered fans around here....
I did think Jirov would win, I didn't think Jirov was a very good heavyweight. Moorer was getting beat and landed the great shot. Great punch and great win for him. That doesn't mean he can go on and win a title. I have a hard time seeing him have the stamina or chin to succeed, even against these below average "champs"..imo
