Phillip N'dou was overrated. So is Isaac Hlatshyawo. They're not the most overrated, though. I guess I'll go with...Spinks. I suppose. He's beaten Zab Judah and Ricardo Mayorga, of course, but I thought they were overrated too. Actually...I thought Vernon Forrest had been overrated. I guess there's just something about welterweights.
I say Ricky is overrated with padded rec. Have yet to see him fight in the mecca of boxing. Heard he will fight KT in his hometurf. The guy maybe suffering from US ALLERGY SYNDROME.
Actually he's fought in the US three times. I saw him in his 2nd pro fight at MSG so I'm not quite sure what your talking about.

I would say me, I'm very overrated. People call me the King of The Ring sometimes, and speak of me as if I'm some kind of God of boxing, it's pretty scary, but um yeah...I still think I have room to get better as shocking as it may sound to all of you guys who are fans of mine, and to the women who are hoochies of mine..
Wats up my jewish brother.
I meant that PBF is overated at Jr. Welter. He was the best in lighter weights but I dont think that he can beat Zoo or even Cotto.
Well Mayweather knocked Corley down 5 times and Corley whooped Bailey who is now scheduled to fight Cotto. If Judah can do well at 140-145 I think FBF should be fine. I would take Salita or Mailignaggi over Cotto but thats just me. JEWS UNITE!
anyone remebers MATT VANDA, who was suposed to be the next legend ...?
Har Har!!
I joined boxingscene two months before his fight with Garr...YIKES! His "win" over Garr was nothing compared to his "win" over 8-2 Patrick Thompson two weeks ago.
The one time Cotto sold big was againt Pinto in PUERTO RICO. Cotto tires easily, can't box, and I'm very sceptical of his chin. I don't think I'm the only one who thinks Cotto will drop like a ton of bricks once he gets in with a legit Top 10 opponent. HBO wanted Cotto to face Pinto because it looks like he was able to survive a real punching threat on his record. Hatton would easily outsell Cotto in America...NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!
Well, as far as Cotto tiring easily....I haven't seen any fight that gave me that indication as he is easily one of the most cool, calm, composed fighters in boxing today. He's like Barrera...his expression never changes. If you are referring to the N'Dou fight, well sure, N'Dou makes every fight look bad. He's also never gone the full 12 before...he was probably a little winded but he was still landing crisp punches and never looked sloppy. He can't box? Have you seen the man's punching? He is a great counter puncher...has a solid jab, and puts his punches together very well. He threw some sick combinations against Sosa. He also cuts the ring off very well and the only knock against his boxing that I have is that he's a little left hook happy...but that'll change. He also does a great job of setting his opponents up and breaking them down. He throws to the body well and has a sweet left hook.
I dunno about his chin, it's relatively untested...the verdict is out for everyone. He has taken good shots from N'Dou and from Maussa if I recall correctly, ate them, and kept on comin. It seems solid enough.
Survive a punching threat? I don't understand. Do you mean they wanted it to look like he faced a dangerous puncher but thats not the case?
The only reason Hatton would EVER sell more tickets in America than Cotto is because he's a Gatti like fighter. Once Hatton is beaten and his defense is exposed he won't be on anyone's mind. That's if he even COMES TO AMERICA!!! :D
Hatton than Toney and Mayweather.
Cotto imho is slightly overrated by some but he definetely gave me the impression that he is the future of Welterweight
Well then Morales is overrated because he continues to fight opponents Mayweather has already beaten. Spinks would make Cotto look ridiculous if he ever dared to get in the same ring with him.
That's not what this is about. I believe one day that Cotto will be a big attraction because he has amazing skill, KO power, and his punches have some real attitude. Hattons an attraction in Europe...not in America. He comes over here and he won't sell shit either because no one cares or knows who he is. This debate ain't about whether Cotto will put butts in seats. Cotto at this point is NOT overrated. He only has 21 fights to his name and will continue to fight better comp with each fight. Oliveira is a decent opponent but he's not even close to the calibre of fighter that someone with 37 FIGHTS under their belt should be fighting. It's like Hatton keeps taking on the semi-decent tough guys whose boxing skills just aren't up to par. There will be very few guys that will be able to deal with the effective aggressiveness, accurate punching, power, and speed that Cotto brings. Hatton's workrate and body punching is nice, but not against a fighter who brings tight body defense and powerful counterpunching like Cotto. I think Cotto would beat Ricky inside of 8 or 9. It'd be a nice fight while it lasted however.

Is there an Arena in America that will sell 15,000 per show to see him? Hatton is the biggest attraction in boxing...not even GATTI can touch him. I consider Olivera as dangerous an opponent as N'Dou.

Randall Bailey...its called a warm up fight. A stay busy fight. Soon enough he'll be taking on the big boys. When will we see Hatton come over here and fight one of the big boys? 45 fights? 60 fights? Ben Tackie is NOT better than N'Dou...

Pinto's last two opponents before Cotto combined for a record of 2-6. Hatton had 15 amateur fights before turning pro at age 17 while Cotto had well over 100 amateur fights. The fact that Hatton is 37-0 with hardly any amateur background amazes me and shouldn't be ridiculed for his lack of opposition. Ben Tackie is better then any fighter Cotto has ever fought or is scheduled to fight. Randall Bailey...Give me a break already!
Can someone explain to me why Hatton is more overrated then Cotto? Pinto and Sosa were a joke and he struggled with N'Dou while Hatton dominated Tackie, Vilches, and knocked out Mike Stewart. Hatton would've also knocked out Pinto had he not run scared out of Manchester one day before the fight.
Pinto and Sosa weren't jokes. The only knock on Sosa is that he's out of his natural weight class. This is a guy who took Floyd the full twelve and knocked Spaddy boy on his ass twice in a close loss. He's posted a 39-4 record...please get over Pinto being horrible. He is still a nice prospect (like Bojado) who can have success at 140 in the future. Would you say that David Reid was a horrible fighter? Not to compare Pinto to Reid directly but Reid was a great prospect who ran into Tito and was humbled by a better fighter. That's an extreme example but what would we do if we just dismissed every prospect that lost early in their career?
Hatton is overrated because he really hasn't fought good competition in 37 pro fights at 140. In 16 fights, Cotto will probably fight most of the top guys at 140 and 147.
