Etienne Saves the Day for Straight Up Promotions!
The Truth Behind Bowes Injury.
Boxingtalk.com has been informed that Clifford Etienne is on his way to louisville to face Kenny Craven on 48-hour notice. Former heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe was originally slated to headline the show, however that fell through when upcoming cruiserweight Steve Cunningham battered bowe (torn rotator cuff) in a recent sparring session. Ray Cambell will soon be releasing an exclusive interview with Cunningham to provide our reads the most up to date and accurate info on the net, Stay Tuned.
It's always nice to see good guys doing well.
I wish Etienne could have had more success in the ring. Heavyweight boxing needs a character like him. Sadly, he just doesn't have the whiskers for it.
He could still beat a few of the bigger names with his punch and determination though.

You know him? I was just watching a documentary on prison boxing in which he figured prominently. He said some really interesting stuff and seemed like a great guy all around. It was an awesome documentary.
Awesome documentary, I have that saved...Some of the fight footage is pretty good as well...
Yeah, he is a man who turned his life around, I have known him for years and have announced many of his fights...
Cool...I remember one thing he said about prison about how "there are guys in there who could be doctors, guys in there who could be lawyers". Something like that. Anyway, I was thinking about that quote for days afterward. It was really an interesting thing to say.
Glad that he turned his life around as can be an example to everyone who thinks they can't do the same.
Ettiene is a very good guy. I've met his family and at ringside they are HILARIOUS! (talking to CLifford and his opponent, they don't get too stressed about it which is nice to see)
Ettiene despite his recent drawbacks has really been attempting to get on the comeback trail and has stayed focused and active. Skill-wise he's one of the better HW fighters and he has a workman like pressure style which is more and more uncommon these days, but unfortunaly he just can't take a great shot. Still think he could beat Brewster again though and a few other top 20s . . .

Clifford is a good friend of mine, I am sure he will put on a great show! GO RHINO :D

Oh he's no doubt got a dodgy chin...but he kept getting up.
I never said he was the best, I just said he's entertaining and value for money.
His fight with Cley Bey was a great scrap.

I've always like Etienne. He's always gave value for money (except when getting destroyed by Tyson).
He'll never be a champ, but watching him in a 10 rounder will always be more entertaining that a John Ruiz title fight.
