I just read on espn.com that riddick bowe, former heavyweight
champ will be in action on Nov.27 vs journeyman kenny craven.
After being away from boxing for 8-9 years bowe is steadily
making a comeback in the heavyweight division. What are the
chances he will become a contender again and fight for the heavy
-weight crown(s)? I personally would like to see a rematch with
him against evander holyfiely(if holyfield gets cleared to fight)
or even fight against mike tyson(probable possibiliy)
What are your thoughts about bowe?
Every man able to fight has the right to do so. That being said Riddick Bowe clearly isn't able to fight anymore. You can't let people with frontal lobe damage step in the ring and complain about boxers dieing at the same time.
Foreman had put on weight but he never looked as soft and flabby as Bowe did in his last fight
Not only that, but George didn't exhibit brain damage (at least not too much ;) ), nor did he have doctors' certificates on record saying that he had suffered frontal lobe damage due to boxing (as Bowe has).
hopfully he loses and decides to hang the gloves up. i looked like shit physically in his last fight and he was slow. i dont see him making a run for any title.
Tyson looks like he has at least an eight pack in your avatar.
Why is there so much negativity surrounding bowe's comeback.
George Foreman did it, so why can't bowe? From all the articles
I've read, Bowe has a good attitude and is hungry to fight until
he gets to the top.
I agree, if Bowe wants to do it, let him do it. We can't tell this guy how to run his life.
If he losses than he losses, but he's doing what he wants.
Sometimes a fighter's heart stays with fighting, sort of like Holyfield. He looked very eager during his interview from jail to take up boxing again. I think if he trains hard he could definitely be up in the top 10.
Why is Bowe fighting still. Does he need the money, or is he doing it cause he really thinks he can become champion again?
Who knows why the guy wants to come back. From what I've heard money isnt an issue because he actually has alot of money left over from his earlier fighting days. Maybe he just wants to fight. I don't see him being a contender or anything.
The problem is that Bowe is not in shape and has not been for quite some time...Its not so much negativity as skepticism because he was quite clearly out of shape before and it does not seem like he has full trained to his potential now either.

Bowe was one of my favorite fighters growing up. I would really hate to see him in there at all, especially against a live one. I would like to see him go to Gleason's Gym and help out kids instead of in the ring. He's just about had it.
I did see bowe's physique and it wasn't pretty. But george foreman got away with a big gut and was able to do great things in his comeback. I think a long layoff like foreman's helps some
fighters.
Foreman is a one of a kind fighter. The guy had a "ten" year layoff and came back to become the heavyweight champion of the world.
Did you see Bowe in his last fight? He was in very poor shape. He looked like he could give a Butterbean a run for his money as far as body physique.
