Kosta Tszyu vs. Ricardo Mayorga

This isnt 140 and 160 meeting in the middle its 140 and 140-147. Kosta is THE man in the toughest division in boxing so I would say with the success of others with less talent moving up he should be able to add 7 pounds and still be quite effective. I would agree that Mayorga hits harder and has a better chin, but Kosta is lightyears ahead in boxing technique and skill. I think Tyson hit harder and had a better chin than Lennox did but if you cant catch 'em you cant hurt 'em. Like I said I still pick Mayorga but I think Kosta is getting a little underrated.

Mayorga would win. Tszyu is a more skilled fighter while Mayorga is a brawler that can bang and take some. Mayorga manhandled Forrest who exposed Mosley. Tszyu's easy to hit and Mayorga can punch! Tszyu would also be giving up 2 or 3 inches in height as well reach. Mayorga's weight is 147 he will not run out of gas like he did at 160. I dont think Tszyu can hurt Mayorga, he would have to exchange with Mayorga. Eventually Mayorga would catch Tszyu and score the KO.

Wow we're talking about Kostya Tsyu not Clark Kent. you always have good things to say on this forum, how do you not think that Tszyu would destroy mayorga? Mayo swings wildly, stands right there and basically begs to be hit. How would Kostya not easily destroy Mayorga?

This fight will never happen, regardless of whether Mayorga stays retired or not. He would never be able to drop down to that weight. It would be a 140 and a 160 meeting in the middle ... doubt it.

Mayorga is a powerful guy, but he throws too many wild punches. I see the fight being tough but going Kostya way. Kostya throws much more accurate power punches and is way smarter. Kostya punches will go inside Mayorga wild punch most of the time, plus (his sparring partners say he punches as hard as a middleweight). Mayorga can hurt Kostya no doubt, But that doesnt mean Kostya doesnt have a great chin. Cause Mayorga can hurt anyone up to 154. Dont let the Vince Phillips lost fool u. That was about 9 years ago, and Kostya is now a much more smart and powerful boxer. If u saw the Vince Phillips fight, Kostya was taking alot of huge punches from Vince Phillips, and it did not seem to hurt him until the tenth round. Where he lost, because of fatigue. After the fight, Kostya said he learned from his mistake, and that he will take his training to a new level. His results speak for itself. Undispute Junior welterweight world champion.

I cant believe all you guys think Zoo's such a monster at 140 but if he moves up he'll turn to a no power wimp. He's been at 140 his whole life. I think he can carry the weight and be just as strong as Mayorga

This really isn't even a fair fight. Mayorga was an animal at 147 and had stamina/chin/power up the wazoo. We haven't seen KT at 147 so theres no reason to believe that he'd be anything special. Mayorga would KO Tszyu in a rather brutal fashion inside of 8 rounds. Ask Vernon about outboxing the 147 pound version of Mayorga...only Spinks was really able to do this to Mayo and it was because he satyed way away from him the whole fight. KT isn't anywhere near as elusive as Spinks. Mayo would laugh at KT's punching power.

There actually isnt a whole lot of size difference between the two, Mayorga has really only fought at 140 and 147, and Tszyu has been at 140 for awhile Im almost positive if Mayorga actually trained he could make 140 again its not that hes too big to make it just too lazy. My personal opinion is that Mayorga would catch him but I this is the only fight I would really love to see against two fighters who actually still box.

I can give Ricardo a chance if he had decent technique...but son is just sloppy. If he had technique it'd turn out to be a good fight, but he doesn't....I just see him gettin done like Tito did him.

I see no possible way for Mayorga to win a fight against Tszyu......I don't see that even going the distance. Kostya'll probably go to Ricardo's body and make it a quicker fight than Tito did. wow no possible way.as long as mayorga has 2 arms he will ko tszyu.

i suspect Tszyu would punch inside Mayorga;s wide shots, KT may not be the bigger puncher than mayo but he is a more accurate puncher. i think he'll knock mayo out

KT was hurt in the 1st fight with Mitchell. KT doesn't have the power to hurt Mayo. He should be able to outbox Mayo, but if Mayo lands he could really hurt him. KT isn't a mover like Spinks so he won't be able get in & out in order to out box him. If KT can't out-muscle you, he doesn't have the advantage to win the fight. He comes in weighing like a Jr. Middleweight so of course he's going to overpower 140 pounders.But he's fighting a naturally bigger, stronger man who could hurt him more than Vince Philips. KT chin wouldn't hold up against a banger like Mayorga. If Mayorga could take a beat down from a puncher like Tito, KT's power shouldn't be too much for him to handle. What are you talking about? Mayorga's been KTFO also and I'm talking about before Tito. He's also lost to two other bums and im not talking about Spinks. I remeber a reporter saying one time that he was suprised by the Forrest fight because Mayorga was involved with two of the worst and most boring fights he's ever seen Lol Getting KTFO in his fist pro match is not that bad. givem a break lol
