What are your impressions of this fight from a couple years ago? I believe that Castillo dominated from about the 4th round on and should have gotten the lopsided decsion that Floyd wound up stealing. Castillo took it to Floyd all night, and although he wasn't the slicker of the two, he came dictated the pace and gave Mayweather a pretty good beating.
I know some like ESPN's Brian Kenny feel that Mayweather won this thing, but I sure can't see any way of it. I admire the fact Mayweather came to fight nursing injuries, but the fact is Castillo won that night, it was just as bad a decsion as any of the contravesial desisions of the last few years.
I first thought Floyd landed the cleaner shots in the first fight, and was a 1 point winner. When I watched again I had Castillo winning by 2 rounds. Figure that out...

Castillo won the first, but Little Floyd took the second.
I thought the 1st fight was close & could've went either way. True Castillo was the agressor but the punches he was landing were caught on the arms & gloves. The crowd was reacting to about everything he was throwing/landing on PBF. I don't think anyone really dominated the fight because they were going back & forth.
I agree I don't see how people can have Castillo winning the second one. Mind you it was a tepid pace on both sides, but Castillo did absolutely nothing to Mayweather. The first one could have gone either way. In my opinion, and I know a lot of people don't agree with me here, but that first fight is last time I've seen Castillo look worth a damn. Since then he's been much more lathargic in my eyes. I wonder if he's outgrowing the weight class. We'll see, being slow and heavy won't help against Casamayor unless he gets lucky.
Did you see Castillo fight Juan Lazcano, it was one of the more brutal fights of the enitre year, one that gets overlooked. Lazcano he can bang and has a pretty sturdy chin 1) Juan hit Castillo with everything he had, the result...shit 2)Lazcano's sturdy chin was put too the test and against JL he was hurt 10 different times in that fight. So go easy a bit on JL, he has looked just fine, remember most were picking Lazcano in the lead up to that fight.
As for his fight with Casamayor, Joel better be on his game, if he fights at all like he did against Daniel Seda it will be a long night for the Cuban defector, a very long night.
Mayweathers sloppy win in the second fight was proof that Castillo was the definite winner of the first fight. I don't think there is anyone who can give to a difinitive answer how Mayweather could have won that first fight, it was total coruption. I was surprised Castillo and his cornerman didn't raise more hell after the fight in the interveiw.
Yeah if Castillo won either of the two fights it was the first one, the second wasn't even close in my opinion.
I think Castillo got the better of Mayweather in the first fight myself.

Ya know guys I try to be rather polite when I am on this site but you two have just made ridiculously stupid comments, sorry I call um as I see em. You both think that Floyd won the first fight and lost the second fight? My first question to both of you is, have you even seen either of the floyd/castillo fights? I am being serious here! Fuck-in-a...Anyone who thinks what you two think is definately misguided and probably not that into the sport. Castillo in my view easily won the first fight, this fact is made more apparent when you watch the second fight. Granted Castillo fought hard and gave a great effort but he lost a somewhat close fight. Watching the second fight and realizing how close it was cemented home the fact if there was any doubt at all that Castillo was the real victor in the first fight.
Calling it the opposite way makes me wonder about you two, Infamouz you have more threads out there than posts, and most threads that you post have already been covered a million times...why do you do this?, and as for you the1god...I am starting to believe that the avatar you have is really you, which would explain your thoughts on the two fights...watch these two fights again fellows, trust me you have completely missed the boat!
In the first fight Castillo was the champion, and Mayweather did everything but beat the man.
Yup, but Mayweather has improved since then. I am not a Mayweather Nuthugger
