Good post, Gringo.
Hearns could choose how he'd beat Floyd.
No offense to Floyd, who is one of the finest technicians I've seen....but, he's too small.
He also has never faced ANYONE as tall, powerful, & fast as Hearns....or someone who could box like Hearns, when Hearns chose to do so.
Hearns could keep this fight outside ALL NIGHT with his jab.
I see him keeping Floyd outside, piling up points. He then lulls Floyd to sleep, & drops the greatest right hand in boxing history upon the lil' dude.
Hearns KO9 Mayweather.
Such a long explanation isn't necesssary. Any one with half a boxing brain knows this is an open and shut case. Floyd gets put to sleep like the dog that he is
It was a great explanation and I agree that its an open and shut case. A lot of people forget that Hearns was an excellent boxer and could outbox great fighters when he focused...evident in the Leonard fights. Hearns could do whatever he wanted to Floyd...outbox him for 12 rounds or put him to sleep in the mid-late rounds with his devastating power.
It's not so much weight as it is strength. Pretty Boy was never a strong 130 pounder. Hearns was an incredibly strong 147 fighter, and Leonard was not weak at that weight. Floyd would be. They would both be able to just push him back and tee off. In either case it would look like Floyd had shown up for a different fight.
Compare Floyd to Roberto Duran for proof. Obviously, he Duran was an incredibly strong lightweight who was able to mix it up with guy who were naturally much bigger. What's also obvious is his shockingly easy defeat at the hands of Hearns. But look past that fight for evidence of Duran's strength, since the loss had a lot to do with being caught cold and shocked by the speed and power that Hearns had - in other words, it still wasn't about weight. Remember how hard he pushed Marvin Hagler? How about when he beat Iran Barkley? Or when he bulled Leonard back into the ropes. And despite the fact that Duran felt he was being embarassed in the second Leonard fight, don't forget that judges actually had it pretty close. Also don't forget Duran had trained like he was going to be fighting a baloonand holding a needle instead of training like he was fighting the best opponent he had ever beaten. Like I said, it's strength, not size that's gonna hold Pretty Boy Floyd from beating the biggest guys he faces. That said, I still think that with his speed and boxing ability he could easily win titles both at 140 and 147. In fact, if he faces Spinks, he'll win all three.

If weight wasn't a factor, I say Mayweather would give those bitches a run for their money..
Wow man. Just wow. I can't believe you just called two of the biggest stars ever, and two of the best fighters ever bitches. Even more incredibly it was in one sentence. Wow.
hearns was a fucking monster until he got to 160...tommy hearns may be the most underrated fighter ever..the man was unbeatable at 140 and 147...tall...lanky..punched like he had rocks in his gloves..
I agree that Hearns is an underrated terror at 147. But if he was so unbeatable at that weight, how did Leonard knock him the fuck out? :D
Mayweather Jr.-Hearns
You must have PBF-Corrales in mind, right? Chicco and the Hitman may be of the same size, BUT the similarity ends there. The Detroit hitman simply is the better all-around fighter, PBF would have the speed, but I still see him get beat up like SRL and maybe KTFO'd (is an understatement) like the great Duran.
Mayweather-Ray Leonard
A bigger and more clever version of himself, no way PBF wins. SRL will hand his ass to him.
I Think That Pbf Lost To Castillo Twice. I Can Just Imagine What Hearns And Sugar Would Do To Him. Not Even Close, something U Shouldn't Even Wonder About.
I want to know peoples opinoin on Floyd Mayweather vs Tommy Hearns prime and or Sugar Ray Leonard prime? Just interested in everybodys thoughts.

yeah, i would have to say that guys like hearns and leonard are in a different class than mayweather
I think PBF is in their class in a P4P sense. But straight up if they were to fight at some mythical catchweight of say 144-145? There's no way. Skillwise PBF can give them trouble but he's too small. If Corley can rock Floyd with a wide left hand imagine what Hearns' straight right to the point of the chin over that rolling left shoulder would do to PBF? Duran still can't figure out what truck hit him and that punch landed more than 20 years ago
