Didn't he won the title left by Zab againts Pinto?
Yes, but it's the lightly regarded WBO belt. While he is a World Champion, if he wants recognition for it, he's going to have to fight someone like Mitchell or Tzyu. Not that Pinto is a pushover or anything.
Sharmba Mitchell- Slick boxer, no real punching power. Very fast hands and feet. He has been held back by a bum knee in his career. I dont really think he has the heart in his biggest fight against Tszyu he quit when the going got tough. He will probably beat Tszyu in the rematch in less than a months, but not because he is better because Tszyu is on the downside.
Miguel Cotto- "The Next Big Thing" at least thats what Top Rank is hoping for. Despite what someone tells you he IS NOT a World Champion. The World Championship at 140 will be settled between Tszyu and Mitchell later on in the year. Picks his shots very well, best punch is his short left hook. Not really a big power puncher, but mnore of a wear you down type fighter.
Corey Spinks- A slick slick boxer and has a very boring style if you dont like watching those type of fighters. Comes from a boxing family uncle Micheal was an all time great Light Heavyweight and his dad used to be the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World. Great fundamentals, defense and fast hands.
Cotto is a power puncher...not so much 1 punch KO...but a few and you're fucked.
Sharmba Mitchel
The only time he's fought at world class he retired himself, people rate him as number 1 at light welter but he's been less than convincing against fighters like Stewart(Hatton destroyed) and Tackie(Tszyu made him look silly)
Migel Cotto
Pure class, looked trouble by Ndou's strength a couple of times but other than that his displays have been near perfect. He has the ability to beat any fighter at light welter.
Corey Spinks
Not seen enough to pass comment.

Miguel Cotto will be the next big thing in boxing. In my opinion he has the best all around skill set in boxing. Good jab, amazing left hook, works well to the body, one of the most calm and composed boxers in the game. Cotto is the real deal.
Totally agree! Cotto is damn impressive and still so young. I like Spinks, he is a technician (runs in the family) he just doesnt have alot of power (but he sure made Mayorga look silly :D ) as for Mitchell I'm not very objective; I dont much like him or his style, but I can give him his due credit; he has alot of natural talent and maybe I'll change my opinion after he fight's Kostya Tszyu again. It could happen!! :D

lol, yea, i saw that fight, is kostya a big puncher or does judah have a really weak chin? it didnt look like that much of a punch.
i guess Hatton doesnt have much of a chance against sharmba or kostya?
Kostya is that big a puncher. Judah has been hit many times, and never hurt like that. The closest parallel I can think in boxing would be George Foreman. He looked like he was punching in slow motion, but he knocked Michael Moorer right the fark out.
I'm not a huge fan of Hatton for one reason and one reason only. He doesn't want to fight outside England. Why? Because if he's outside the UK, he can't have Mickey Vann there to disregard his fouling.
I think Hatton has potential, but I think at this point, Mitchell would give him a boxing lesson and Tzyu would just knock him out. He stands a better chance against Mitchell, in my opinion
vB MartinKostya is one of my favorite fighters just because he knocked Judah down 3 times with a single punch. I loved the Judah Chicken Dance, though I wish Jay Nady had walked over and beat the fuck outte Judah with that stool.

Sharmba Mitchel - Absolure pleasure to watch fight. He punches well, has great stamina, and moves quite well, too. An all around good fighter. The only draw on him is he designs his own ring garb. He should really leave that to the professionals.
I would have said last month that his upcoming rematch with the little Russtralian wouldn't be that much of a match as long as Kostya has been out, but after seeing Tito perform after 2-1/2 years out of the ring, I have hope of this being a barnburner.

Miguel Cotto - Cotto is definitely the real deal. I think he'll settle in at 154 for a while, probably ruling there with an iron fist, then move up and become a full middleweight. With him and Tito, Puerto Rico has a lot to celebrate.
Corey Spinks - Sanders bucks my normal trend in fighters I enjoy watching. Maybe because he, too, knocked down Zab Judah. He's is probably in an "all time great" league if it's only ever judged on boxing skills, but sadly i think my 86 year old grandmother hits harder. He's still such a highly skilled boxer, he's fun to watch. Given his pedigree, he should be a great boxer, though.

Gifted with natural talent...and finally, a world champion!
