Carlos Adames: record, next fight and profile →

A pair of title showdowns will round out a stacked PBC Pay-Per-View event on Prime Video co-headlined by separate showdowns featuring popular superstars Gervonta “Tank” Davis and David “El Monstruo” Benavídez taking place Saturday, June 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. A jam-packed four-bout pay-per-view lineup will highlight the historic 100th championship fight night at the popular sports and entertainment venue.

It was a night like no other nearly eight years ago, when Jermall Charlo retained his IBF junior-middleweight belt with a unanimous decision over Austin Trout and twin brother Jermell rallied to knock out John Jackson in the eighth round to capture the WBC’s 154-pound belt.

Instead of complaining, he bit his tongue. Rather than bemoan his fate, he took on the work in front of him. And rather than kick a man while he’s down, Carlos Adames expressed gratitude.

Days after Jermall Charlo was arrested for his involvement in a car accident, the WBC (finally) stripped the unbeaten middleweight titleholder of his belt – but voiced its concern for his mental health and pledged support.

Amid an entertaining back-and-forth over the signing of a fight contract, unified middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly can take comfort in the fact that he has secured a date and venue to fight Carlos Adames.

Carlos Adames (23-1) has been very vocal in his desire to move up to 168 pounds and face any of the top fighters in the division. He previously called out Canelo Alvarez, David Benavidez and Caleb Plant.
