LAS VEGAS - The stars are out in Las Vegas. Many of the sport’s top fighters and retired former champions will be in attendance Saturday night when WBC/WBA middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez and IBF champion Danny Jacobs collide in a unification fight at the T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas strip. The fight will be streamed live on DAZN.

The odds on the fight range from anywhere from -300 to -500 for Canelo Alvarez depending on the betting house.

Froch believes the fight is closer than the odds suggest but feels that Alvarez and his youth will be a key advantage against the 32-year-old Jacobs.

“It’s a good fight. It’s a close one. I thinks Jacobs is a top flight middleweight. Canelo Alvarez obviously hasn’t been a middleweight for as long but is a big strong guy. I think the youth of the 28 year old Canelo will go in his favor,” Froch told BoxingScene.com.

“Especially if the fight goes the distance which I think it will. I think he will finish stronger and win on points. I don’t think he knocks out Jacobs and I don’t think Jacobs can knock out Canelo Alvarez.”

Canelo was last in action in December when he blew out an overmatched Rocky Fielding in three rounds for the WBA regular super middleweight title. Jacobs last fought in October when he edged out Sergio Derevyanchenko by split decision to win the vacant IBF middleweight title.
