Former junior middleweight world champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (45-1-1, 32KOs) of Guadalajara, Mexico is training very hard in San Diego, California, along with his trainers Chepo and Eddie Reynoso.

Canelo will challenge WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (40-4) of Puerto Rico on the 21st of November at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Canelo has prepared in San Diego for his recent fights with Alfredo Angulo, Erislandy Lara and James Kirkland. He enjoys the area, the quiet and the additional training options. Canelo has already banked in about 100 rounds of hard sparring.

"Sometimes we go to the mountains, sometimes to the track. There are several things that we do, but my routine always begins at 6 am," said Canelo.

"I am very comfortable when I train here. It is a city with a climate which is very similar to my climate in Guadalajara. It's also a quiet city to train in.

A victory over Cotto would be the biggest accomplishment of Canelo's career and he is very motivated to get the job done.

"Certainly, it would be one of the biggest wins in my career. For me, all of my victories are great, but this one would mean more because of everything that it entails and because of everything that comes with it. Beating Cotto would be the biggest thing [for my career]," Canelo said.
