This coming Saturday night, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will face his sixth British opponent.

Canelo will collide with undefeated Callum Smith in a battle for the WBA, WBC super middleweight titles.

During the course of his career, Canelo has defeated five Brits - including Ryan Rhodes, Amir Khan, Rocky Fielding, Liam Smith and Matthew Hatton.

Canelo does not view himself as the destroyer of British fighters.

"No, no, no, nothing like that," Canelo said to Daily Mail. "As a matter of fact, I feel privileged that I've fought several English boxers. They're great boxers - strong, smart and once again, another one against Callum Smith I have the opportunity to do it."

Canelo does realize that Callum will be coming for a bit of revenge, as the Mexican star knocked out older brother Liam back in 2016 - when they fought for the WBO world title at 154-pounds.

Callum and his brother are nothing a like in terms of technique, physical dimensions and level of skill.

"They're totally different, totally different," Canelo said. "I'm preparing 100 percent for Callum Smith. I know that he comes with some sense of revenge for his brother."

Canelo was in action back in November of 2019, when he moved up by two weight classes to score a knockout victory over Sergey Kovalev to capture the WBO's light heavyweight title. He vacated the belt in the aftermath and revealed his intention to drop down in weight. In the same month, Smith had his last in-ring encounter when he fought John Ryder, winning a controversial twelve round decision to retain the WBA strap.
