SHOWTIME Sports will chronicle the buildup to the historic and highly anticipated undisputed super middleweight championship showdown between boxing’s consensus No. 1 pound-for-pound star Canelo Alvarez and undefeated Caleb Plant with a new installment of the Emmy Award-winning series ALL ACCESS.
The ex-champion Caleb Plant defeated to win his super middleweight title doesn’t think the unbeaten Plant has a legitimate chance to pull off an upset against Canelo Alvarez.
Canelo Alvarez’s first fight on Showtime Pay-Per-View in seven years might not mark the last time he partners with the premium cable network.
Canelo Alvarez anticipates some difficulties during the early stages of his upcoming fight against Caleb Plant. The first round of their super middleweight title unification fight November 6 will be especially tricky, according to Alvarez. Once he adjusts to the unbeaten Plant’s style, though, Alvarez believes beating the IBF 168-pound champion could become relatively easy.
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is intent on doing something that no other fighter from his country has ever accomplished. That’s not to say he’ll consider himself to have outdone every other fighter to come from Mexico should he prevail in his November 6 undisputed super middleweight championship showdown with Caleb Plant.
Canelo Alvarez seems to have found peace at the business end of his career. A longtime client of Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, Alvarez, the WBC/WBO/WBA 168-pound champion, famously parted ways with the company last year. Since then, he has been a free agent, a status that has allowed him most recently to strike a deal for his next fight under the banner of Golden Boy’s arch-rival, Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions.
Last month, Canelo Alvarez spoke more with his hands than his mouth. Canelo landed two punches on Caleb Plant at the start of their press conference. The Mexican champion has promised an emphatic, impressive victory November 6 in Las Vegas.
