Former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew (29-2-1, 19 KOs) is no longer interested in chasing after the heavyweight title - and has now changed direction by targeting the winner of the World Boxing Super Series cruiserweight tournament.

Last week, Oleksandr Usyk eliminated Mairis Briedis from the tournament to unify the WBC, WBO world titles.

Usyk will face the winner of Gassiev vs. Dorticos in May.

Bellew dropped the cruiserweight title in early 2017, for a move to heavyweight to face his domestic rival David Haye.

In a major upset, Bellew stopped Haye in the eleventh round. Haye had suffered a ruptured Achilles during the contest.

Bellew faces Haye in a rematch on May 5th at the O2 Arena in London.

The dream, was to fight for a heavyweight world title - but he believes Anthony Joshua will eliminate that dream by beating Joseph Parker - who Bellew was targeting.

So now Bellew is looking at Usyk, who is the number one seed in the WBSS, or whoever else happens to come away with all four of the cruiserweight titles from that tournament.

“Whoever comes through the cruiserweights, I will face for all those belts. My plan was to beat Haye and go for Joseph Parker, who I believed I could beat," Bellew told BBC Sport.

"Now I have to look past fighting the heavyweight champion of the world now, the dream isn't going to come true. I believe Joshua will defeat Parker and I'm not touching the WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, no chance in this world. He's huge and I'm not going anywhere near Joshua. These modern-day heavyweights are just too big.

“I still very much believe it is my division. I still see myself as a cruiserweight and there's a huge opportunity available for me there.
