SoBe Entertainment has filed a $2 million dollar lawsuit against Paul Wight, known as "The Big Show" in wrestling circles, over a failed boxing deal. After Wight parted ways with the WWE in 2006, the seven-foot wrestler planned to make a run in the sport of boxing. In 2007, he signed a major deal with SoBe to train him for his pro boxing career. SoBe claims that Wight refused to go forward with his boxing run and returned to the WWE in 2008 to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a staged bout at Wrestlemania 24.

SoBe had advanced Wight $1 million dollars and were paying him $84,000 a month after he signed a deal. They also claim that he never revealed that he owed the IRS $450,000. The WWE is also named in the lawsuit for contractual interference. SoBe claims the WWE convinced Wight to walk away from his planned boxing stint so he could return to wrestling. SoBe sent a legal letter to the WWE in March 2008, advising them of their contract with Wight and demanding that WWE prevent his bout with Mayweather from going forward. The WWE ignored the letter.
