Middleweight prospect Vito Mielnicki Jnr will be back in his home state of New Jersey for the second time in 10 months when he headlines an April 11 in Atlantic City.
Mielnicki, 22-1 (13 KOs), will face Omar Ulises Huerta, 15-0-1 (13 KOs), in a bout scheduled for 10 rounds. The show will take place in the Adrian Phillips Theater within the famed Boardwalk Hall and will stream on ProBox TV, according to a press release.
Mielnicki, a 23-year-old who turned pro in 2019 at the age of 17, suffered his sole defeat in 2021 when he lost a majority decision to the 6-2 James Martin. He’s gone 14-0 with one no-contest since. A February 2025 draw with the unbeaten Connor Coyle was overturned when Coyle tested positive for a banned performance-enhancing drug; Coyle and his team argued that the testing was flawed.
Since then, Mielnicki went on to shut out the undefeated Kamil Gardzielik last June in a main event in Newark, New Jersey, and stopped the unbeaten Samuel Nmomah in November in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the undercard of David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde.
Huerta will be Mielnicki’s fourth straight undefeated opponent. Huerta is a 29-year-old from Tijuana, Mexico, who now lives in California. He has only beaten three foes with more wins than losses on their record: two were 1-0 at the time and the other was 9-8-1. In Huerta’s most recent outing, he fought to a six-round draw with an 8-9 opponent.
Two other bouts have been announced for this card.
The co-feature is a 10-rounder featuring junior middleweights Yan Marcos, 14-0 (10 KOs), and Dwyke Flemmings Jnr, 11-0 (10 KOs). Also on this show is another junior middleweight 10-rounder, this one between Raul Garcia, 15-2-1 (12 KOs), and Quinton Randall, 15-3-1 (3 KOs).
