Alamodome, San Antonio, Texas - Welterweight Alex Saucedo of Oklahoma improved to 2-0 when he defeated Jean Colon (0-2) via first round knockout. The official time of the stoppage was 1:03.
Adam Lopez had a successful pro debut when he destroyed Richard Hernandez (0-2) at the 2:11 mark of the first round of their bantamweight fight. The Ronnie Shields trained Lopez displayed great speed and power while dominating his opponent. The 21 year old has a bright future ahead of him.
2004 US Olympian Vanes Martirosyan (32-0) made quick work out of Troy Lowry (27-12 in a stay busy fight. Martirosyan came out aggressive, dropping Lowry with a 2 punch combination to the body early in the opening stanza. The fighter of Armenian descent fought at a relaxed pace and finished off Lowry at the 2:53 mark of the third round to retain his WBC silver junior middleweight title.
Promising welterweight prospect Wale (Lucky Boy) Omotoso (21-0) defeated Nestor Rosas (9-3) via technical knockout. The stoppage occurred at the 55 second mark of the sixth round.
The action started to pick up midway through the 2nd round. Lucky Boy repeatedly hurt and beat his over matched opponent to the punch in route to the knockout victory.
Undefeated lightweight prospect Ivan Najera (6-0 6 KOs) disposed of David Castillo (2-4) via TKO at the 2:54 mark of the second round of their scheduled four round fight.
In the evening's opening bout, featherweight prospect Jeremy Longoria (4-0) kept his perfect record intact when he defeated Ricardo Valencia (0-3-1) via unanimous decision. The scores were 39-36 twice and 38-37.
