In a recent interview with Ria Novasti, former WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev denied receiving any proposals for a 2012 clash with WBC champion Vitali Klitschko. The head of Klitschko’s promotional company in Kiev, K2, recently stated in an interview that "Valuev will most likely" be Vitali's opponent, possibly at the Olimpiisky arena in Kiev, Ukraine.

The "Russian Giant," inactive since losing the crown to David Haye in November of 2009, has undergone a series of operations to correct several injuries. While Valuev is interested, nobody has presented him with an official offer.

“I have heard absolutely nothing about this intention of the Klitschko brothers’ promoters and have not received any proposals from them,” Valuev, 38, said over the phone.
