British heavyweight Tyson Fury has turned up the heat, telling The Sun that he plans to batter Dereck Chisora for the British heavyweight title. Chisora is set to face WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko on April 30. Fury predicts a knockout win for Wladimir. He wants to face Chisora next, and predicts another knockout loss for Dereck. Fury is Chisora's mandatory to the British title.
"He's fighting Klitschko, he'll have a few months off, then he'll have to get fit again so it could take it right into next year. But I'll be ready whenever it happens. He'll get knocked out by Klitschko and then he can come back and get knocked out by me," Fury said.
Fury's Promoter Mick Hennessy has asked the British Boxing Board of Control to strip Chisora so Fury can fight for the title. Fury has been waiting since October for a shot at the belt.
Hennessy said: "It's ridiculous what's going on. Tyson will have been waiting more than a year for his chance. Chisora won the title against Sam Sexton in October so his six months' grace is up next month but he's got the Klitschko fight on April 30. We've talked non-stop to the Board but we're not getting any answers that make any sense."
