WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley expects Lamont Peterson (30-1-1, 15KOs) to retain his WBA/IBF belts on May 19th at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Peterson will step in the ring with Amir Khan (26-2, 18KOs) for a second time. Last December, Peterson captured his two titles from Khan with a close and controversial twelve round split decision.
In their first meeting, Bradley had Peterson winning the contest, but admits the fight was close. He expects Peterson to return stronger and win the rematch in convincing fashion.
"I think Peterson beats him convincingly in the rematch. I think it will be clearer. I think Peterson is going to go back and start off where he left off, I'm sure. He knows that Khan can't take pressure. I just don't see Khan becoming this great inside-fighter in a couple of months. I don't see that happening. I pick Peterson in that fight and I pick him to win convincingly this time," Bradley told BoxingScene.com.
Bradley, the only fighter to beat Peterson, will move up in weight on June 9th to challenge Manny Pacquiao for the WBO welterweight title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
