OMAHA, Nebraska – Following Williams’ win, super featherweight prospect Jose Valenzuela spent four full rounds bombarding overmatched Hugo Rodriguez with one punishing power shot after another. The 19-year-old Valenzuela (2-0), of Seattle, dropped Mexico’s Rodriguez (1-1) once apiece in the first and second rounds, and won their four-round, 130-pound bout by huge margins on all three scorecards (40-33, 40-33, 40-35).
The taller southpaw battered the extremely tough Rodriguez at will with straight lefts, right hooks and brutal body shots throughout their bout.

Ramel Snegur made Keeshawn Williams work hard to remain unbeaten Saturday night.
Snegur, of Portland, Oregon, hurt Williams late in the third round, but Williams withstood that trouble, had a strong fourth round and won their four-round welterweight bout by unanimous decision. Two judges scored all four rounds for Williams (40-36, 40-36) and the other judge scored Snegur the winner of one round (39-37).
Williams, of Washington, D.C., improved to 4-0-1 (1 KO) by winning the first fight on the Terence Crawford-Jose Benavidez Jr. undercard at CHI Health Center.
Snegur (2-3-1, 1 KO) rocked Williams with a right uppercut toward the end of the third round. Williams had to hold on after absorbing that shot.
Williams caught Snegur with several hard shots toward the end of the fourth round, including a right uppercut-left hook combination that forced Snegur to hold him.
