On multiple occasions '2014 Fighter of the Year' Terence Crawford (27-0, 19KOs) has had his name mentioned as one of the rising stars in the sport. When his name was mentioned alongside that of Canelo Alvarez, he said that they will both continue to rise as they put on exciting performances.

"I just look at it as my face is a new face in boxing. Once Canelo and myself put on the big performances that the public wants to see they will be in to it. The fans always like to see new faces. Floyd was a new face. Cotto was a new face," Crawford told BoxingScene.com.

As for his big breakthrough, Crawford pointed to his 2014 campaign. Within two years Craword has captured world titles at lightweight and junior welterweight.

"Traveling and beating Ricky Burns in his backyard for the title and then the [Yuriorkis] Gamboa fight was when I broke through," said Crawford.

The Omaha, Nebraska native along with WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley are the frontrunners to face Manny Pacquiao in April.
