World class trainer Robert Garcia was one of the recent guests to appear on BoxingScene.com's official radio show - "The Boxing Lab".  Garcia has a deep stable of fighters, including world champions Nonito Donaire and Brandon Rios.

During my interview with Garcia last week on BoxingScene, the trainer said that there was no way that Antonio Margarito would accept the 150-pound catch-weight limit that was being demanded by Miguel Cotto's team.  Margarito and Cotto will collide in a rematch on December 3 at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Garcia said that Margarito was incapable of making the weight. On the latest edition of The Boxing Lab, I asked Garcia for his opinion on the catch-weight of 153-pounds that was finally agreed upon by both parties.

"Tony is already in the gym.  He knows what he needs to do to make the weight.  Last year he made 150 (for the fight against Manny Pacquiao).  He will be okay," said Garcia.

"Of course it does. They wanted to get Tony down to 150.  They also wanted to have a 160-pound limit on the day of the fight.  That Tony couldn't gain more than 10 pounds before he steps in the ring. Now that it is at 153, they don't look so good," stated Garcia.

"That is like if Brandon Rios gets a belt at 140 and we are going to defend it and say that our opponent can't weigh in at more than 139 pounds.  It is crazy.  Tony will make the 153 pounds and laugh," continued Garcia.
