Junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara (18-2-3, 12KOs), and his manager Luis DeCubas Jr. are confident former champion Austin Trout will be unable to come back from defeat on December 7th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Showtime will televise the fight which features a welterweight battle between Paulie Malignaggi and Zab Judah in the main event.

Trout last fought in April, losing a twelve round decision to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Lara came back from two knockdowns to stop Alfredo Angulo in the tenth round of their June meeting.

"This fight has attracted  alot of interest because everybody recognizes that Erislandy and Trout are good boxer, but we believe our fighter is superior in everything. We hope that a win on December 7 will put a lot of pressure on Canelo or anyone else out there at 154 pounds. Trout is a great fighter, but he doesn't have the technical ability or the punch or the chin of Lara. After Erislandy wins in December, then nobody can avoid him," DeCubas Jr. told George Ebro.
