Bernd Boente, the manager of WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 40 KOs), does not expect a possible fight with David Haye (25-2, 23 KOs) to come off in the fall.
Boente disputes the recent comments that were made by Haye and his manager, Adam Booth. Both of them are blaming Klitschko and Boente for breaking off the negotiations.
According to Boente, the two sides are too far apart on the money. Haye and Booth are not only demanding a "huge financial guarantee" - they are also demanding 50% of the British pay-per-view revenue.
Because of Haye's one-sided loss to younger brother Wladimir Klitschko in July 2011, the Klitschko side is shocked with Haye's high financial demands.
"What Adam Booth said is not true. We had an offer on the table and they did not accept that offer, therefore they will not fight. Vitali always said that he would fight David Haye. He also said that he would fight someone else. We are looking for the right opponent, but the business case also has to be okay. Adam Booth and David Haye are asking for a huge ridiculous guarantee, plus 50% of the British pay-per-view and we will not accept that. Honestly, he's not a superstar anymore. He's just a challenger," Boente said,
