Former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (23-1, 16KOs) has two good options waiting for his at super featherweight, Puerto Rico's Juan Manuel Lopez (34-3, 31KOs) and WBO champion Mikey Garcia - according to the Cuban boxer's legal adviser Tony Gonzalez, who spoke with Carlos Narvaez.

Gamboa tried his hand in the lightweight division last Saturday night, when he challenged WBO champion Terence Crawford. After looking very good in the first four rounds, Gamboa was dropped four times and stopped in the ninth round. Some felt, including Crawford himself, that Gamboa was too small for the weight. When he entered the ring, Crawford rehydrated to a weight of 152-pounds.

At one time Gamboa vs. Juanma was one of the biggest fights to be made in boxing when both of them were dominating at super bantamweight and featherweight, but the fight never happened after Juanma suffered back to back knockout defeats to Orlando Salido. But Juanma has been able to get his career back on track with a knockout of Daniel Ponce De Leon earlier this year. He has tough test on July 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he faces unbeaten Francisco Vargas (19-0-1, 13KOs).

Garcia (34-0, 28KOs) is going through some legal issues with his promoter Top Rank. Gamboa-Garcia was the original fight being pursed by Gamboa's team and Top Rank. After Top Rank was unable to reach a financial agreement with Garcia, Crawford came in the came into the picture.
