Boxing legend "Sugar" Ray Leonard has been given junior welterweight Amir Khan the edge to defeat Zab Judah in Saturday's unification bout at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Leonard gives Judah a shot in the fight because of his experience, but sides with the younger and possibly more hungrier Khan to win.
"There is always a risk when you fight guys of veteran ability but Amir Khan is fresher, younger, he wants it and I think this is Amir Khan's chance to really shine and really make a name for himself," Leonard told The BBC.
In 2012, Khan would like to get a shot at Floyd Mayweather Jr. Leonard sounds like it might be too much too soon for the British star.
"When you go into the Floyd Mayweathers and the Pacquiaos, you go into a whole different arena because of the experience, because of the confident, because of the talent. You take everything one step at a time and one fight at a time and you don't go past that. You take what's coming to you right now," Leonard said.
