WBC heavyweight Silver Champion Bermane Stiverne (23-1-1, 20KOs) is vowing "to take a chance," and go for broke, when he fights the full champion of the World Boxing Council, Vitali Klitschko, early next year.
At the WBC's annual convention, which this year being held in Bangkok, Thailand, it was agreed that Vitali, who is still recovering from a hand injury, has until November 30th, to make his mind up about what he's going to do, and announce it.
Softly spoken and genial outside ring hours Bermane, who came a long distance to reach the Thai Capitol, already has a mindset strategy and has set an impacting, exacting collison course for the future would be President of Ukraine.
He reasons: "I don't take Vitali lightly because of his age. I'm in the gym and I stay ready. Whenever this fight happens it's going to be memorable and good for boxing. What better fight to do than the champion and number one contender. I plan on bringing my best and there'll be a lot of excitement!"
"I'm going to do everything that other fighters didn't do...and that's to take a chance! I've watched Vitali's last four of five fights, and these fighters were always afraid, or not taking a chance, or not in shape. I just have to work smarter and harder. It's not just taking a chance, but knowing what you're doing by taking that chance.
"I don't care when the fight is going to be. It's a dream I've always had to fight for the title. All my success even at amateur was against bigger taller guys. I don't see anyone (else) who can give Vitali a good challenge or beat him. I believe I'm the one that's going to make this happen."
