The televised portion of the Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury pay-per-view undercard is still under construction.

It appears, though, that boxing fans will get an appealing lead-in to Showtime’s four-fight, pay-per-view telecast December 1. Sources have confirmed to BoxingScene.com that Showtime likely will televise the Adonis Stevenson-Oleksandr Gvozdyk light heavyweight title fight live on the network immediately preceding the start of the Wilder-Fury pay-per-view show that night.

The bout between Quebec’s Stevenson (29-1-1, 24 KOs), the WBC 175-pound champion, and Ukraine’s Gvozdyk (15-0, 12 KOs), the mandatory challenger for Stevenson’s title and the WBC’s interim light heavyweight champion, will be broadcast from Videotron Centre in Quebec City, Canada. The Wilder-Fury fight for Wilder’s WBC heavyweight title will headline a Showtime Pay-Per-View event from Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The Wilder-Fury pay-per-view card will begin right after the Stevenson-Gvozdyk broadcast ends on Showtime. ESPN.com was the first to report Showtime’s plan for airing Stevenson-Gvozdyk.

Yvon Michel, Stevenson’s promoter, announced Wednesday that the Stevenson-Gvozdyk fight has been scheduled for December 1 at Videotron Centre. Michel didn’t announce the American television broadcaster for Stevenson-Gvozdyk on Wednesday, but an official announcement is expected soon regarding Showtime’s plan for December 1.

Stevenson, 41, will defend the WBC title he barely retained in his last fight. Former WBC super middleweight champ Badou Jack (22-1-3, 13 KOs) battled Stevenson to a 12-round draw in that fight May 19 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Jack wanted an immediate rematch, but the WBC ordered Stevenson to make his mandatory defense versus Gvozdyk in his next fight.

The pay-per-view undercard for Wilder-Fury could include fights featuring WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (28-0, 22 KOs, 1 NC) and WBA super featherweight champ Gervonta Davis (20-0, 19 KOs), but those plans haven’t been finalized.

The three-city press tour for the Wilder-Fury fight is set to begin Monday at BT Sport Headquarters in London. It’ll continue Tuesday in New York, where their noon press conference on the Flight Deck at Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Complex will be open to the public.
