Both Gary Shaw, and Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions, have advised BoxingScene.com that WBC/WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley has rejected a revised offer to face WBA king Amir Khan on July 23. According to Shaw, Bradley rejected a final offer of "$1.4 million with an 80/20 [split in Bradley's favor] and a "50-50 split on the [UK] pay-per-view."

Both Shaw and Schaefer are shocked with Bradley's decision, and neither promoter has any idea as to why the offer was rejected. Rumors continue to pound the industry that Bradley is sitting on the shelf until his promotional contract with Shaw expires. The contract reportedly ends in the month of June. Whatever the reason, both promoters appear to be mentally exhausted with trying making the deal.

"I don't know the reason [on why Bradley turned it down]. He turned down $1.4 vs. 80/20 [and] it was 50-50 on the pay-per-view. It could be someone else's fingerprints....I have no idea. Richard Schaefer is perplexed as I am," Shaw told BoxingScene.com.

Schaefer, the CEO for Golden Boy, will now report the recent events to Khan and his management. He plans to present Khan with several alternative options for the July date. Promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events has already reached out to Schaefer to discuss the possibility of matching Khan against IBF champion Zab Judah.

"There are a bunch of names out there. I'm going to talk to the Khans and inform them [of Bradley's decision]. I'm really perplexed. I'm going to have to digest the news first, and then I'm going to talk to the Khans and then I'll see what I'm going to do," Schaefer said to BoxingScene.
