If he can't secure a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2008, former three-division champion Shane Mosley says that his Nov. 10 bout against WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto is possibly the final fight of his career.

In an interview with El Nuevo Dia , Mosley said that Mayweather would be his next choice after Cotto, and retirement would be a possible option if a Mayweather bout did not materialize.

In order for a Mayweather clash to even take place, Mosley must first beat Cotto next weekend in New York's Madison Square Garden. Mayweather would have to keep up his end of the deal by beating Ricky Hatton at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Dec. 8.

"If I win against Cotto, the next fight that would of course be with Floyd Mayweather Jr.", Mosley said. "They say he is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport and therefore I would like to fight him. But that would only happen if he beats Ricky Hatton and if I beat Miguel Cotto, and I know Cotto is going to be a very hard, very difficult fight. Cotto is a great welterweight champion. If the fight (with Mayweather) doesn't happen, I might consider not fighting anymore."

Mosley said there was no interest in facing the winner of the February unification between welterweight champions Paul Williams (WBO) and Kermit Cintron (IBF). He appears to have the mindset of Mayweather or bust.

"I'm not interested in fighting Paul Williams of Kermit Cintron", said Mosley.
