MEXICALI, BC - The long awaited rematch between the Mexico's Giovani Segura and Ivan Calderon of Puerto Rico, for the flyweight title of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), already has permanent seat and takes place in Mexicali, Baja California - possibly in the Auditorium of the State.
The "Aztec Warrior" Segura (26-1-1, 22 KOs) will rematch "Iron Boy" Calderon (34-1-1, 6 KOs) on Saturday, April 2. According to PR Best Boxing and Zanfer, it will be televised by TV Azteca and likely to take place in the Auditorium of the State of Baja California's capital, where some of the most passionate boxing fans in the country are located.
In August 2010, Segura traveled to Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, and took away the WBO flyweight title from Calderon, in addition to giving the Puerto Rican boxer his first defeat in the professional boxing by knocking him out in the eighth round.
It is now turn of the "Iron Boy" to pay such a visit and try to get revenge by winning at Segura's home.
The contest, Segura-Calderón II, is one of the most widely awaited rematches this year and keeps boxing alive with the bitter rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico. The rivalry will be further extended in May with the battle between Jorge "Travieso" Arce and Wilfredo Vasquez Jr., in a fight where Arce attempts to become the first Mexican ever to hold world titles in four weight divisions.
