Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has promised that one day he will avenge all of the Mexican boxers who were defeated by Manny Pacquiao. By the end of next year, Alvarez feels he will be ready to take Pacquiao on. He returns on December 4 to defend his WBC silver title at 154 against current IBO welterweight champion Lovemore Ndou. He wasn't too impressed with Pacquiao twelve round beating of Antonio Margarito.
"In one year, I'll be ready for Manny Pacquiao. By that time I'll have three or four more fights and I'll be ready to face him. I know that last Saturday he gave a great show, but I am not afraid and he is not invincible. He had a fight with a boxer who had no defense (Antonio Margarito) and did not land a single punch, and that made it an easy fight," Alvarez said to Romo Israel.
Alvarez says Pacquiao is fast and knows how to fight, but he doesn't do well with boxers when they use their legs to move around the ring.
"For now, I'm just focused on this fight on December 4, and then we'll look at the possibility of a fight with Manny Pacquiao by the end of the year," said Alvarez. "He's a very fast fighter and he knows how to fight, but he is not invincible. He's faced a lot of boxers who don't move much. When he fought Juan Manuel Marquez and Erik Morales, it was very tough for him."
