WBC super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz (27-0-1, 15KOs) has a lot of respect for Carl Frampton (18-0, 13KOs) and views him as one of his toughest adversaries at the weight. Frampton will challenge IBF super bantamweight champion Kiko Martinez (31-4, 23KOs) in a rematch on September 6th at the Titanic Quarter in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Frampton already knocked Martinez out last February and Santa Cruz is picking him to win again.
"It's a great fight. I think it's 50-50 but I think Frampton will win that one," Santa Cruz stated.
Comparing Frampton with his British counterpart, WBA 'regular' champion Scott Quigg (28-0-2, 21KOs), Santa Cruz sees Frampton as the better overall fighter.
"I think Frampton [is better than him]. I think he's stronger, comes forward more. Quigg is good too, but I think [Frampton] is a lot stronger," Santa Cruz said.
Both Frampton and Quiqq are interested in facing Santa Cruz. If Golden Boy Promotions and his manager Al Haymon are on board with having him travel, he will come over to the UK to face either of them.
"If my promoter and my manager think it's a great opportunity and they think we have to go, then I'll go. Whatever the promoter and my manager says, I'll do whatever they say," Santa Cruz said.
