Undefeated junior welterweight contender Dmitiry Salita is likely going to challenge Amir Khan for the WBA junior welterweight title in the UK in early December. A date of December 5 has been mentioned for the fight. Salita is not worried about fighting in Khan's backyard.

"English fans have shown me a lot of support when my fights have been shown on TV, so I'm expecting a good turn-out. This fight can't come soon enough and I'll start intensive training at the end of this month. I know quite a lot about Khan. He was a good amateur and a very good technician for his age, so I expect a good fight," Salita told Sportsworld.

"He has good hand-speed and movement, but there are holes in his defence and offence and I'm very confident of winning. I have never lost, while he was beaten quite recently, but let the best man win."

Salita is very proud of his Jewish religion and uses the ring nickname "The Star of David." He appears to be concerned that certain media circles will label the fight as a "Jew vs Muslim" encounter.

"I hope that's not how the media will portray it," Salita said. "From what I have heard, he is a very good role model in the UK and does a lot of charity work. I am going after him because he is the title-holder, regardless of his religion."
