Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. expects a tough fight when WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) defends his title against Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs).
Canelo-Khan takes place on May 7th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Khan, who competes at welterweight, is heading up by eight pounds to go for the title at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.
Khan is a huge underdog due to his chin and his size disadvantage. He was knocked out at junior welterweight and lightweight, and dropped in several other fights by boxers who were not as powerful as Canelo.
Jones, who is also an expert analyst for HBO (who are distributing the fight on pay-per-view), believes a lot of people are underestimating Khan's abilities as a good boxer. Khan holds a clear advantage in speed, with much faster hands and quick movements on his gets on his toes.
"It's a good fight. People think that it's an easy fight, but it's not an easy fight. Late rounds you have to favor Canelo because of his style and his weight advantage - but truthfully speaking Amir Khan is a very good fighter. People never give him credit, and yeah he's a little chinny but he's a very good fighter and you have to catch him..in order to hit him you have to catch him. I have to favor Canelo because of his size," Jones told TMZ Sports.
