Light heavyweight Roy Jones Jr. has a big fight ahead of him, and even bigger plans beyond that. Jones takes on the returning Felix "Tito" Trinidad on January 19 in New York's Madison Square Garden. Jones tells BoxingScene.com that unlike some of Trinidad's past opponents, he intimidates Trinidad, which will make the Puerto Rican superstar come ready to fight. The two meet at a catch-weight of 170-pounds.

"He knows that he has to be right to fight me. Those other guys like Winky Wright didn't scare him. I scare him so he's got to be ready to fight me. He's obviously been looking for the same thing as me, a reason to get up. Someone who is a threat to him. Its' going to be a big fireworks night. He's going to throw his and I'm going to throw mine and if one of them connect - something bad is going to happen, Jones said.

After the battle with Trinidad, Jones says that he plans to target current WBA/WBC/WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe. Jones says that unlike Bernard Hopkins, he will fly out to England to meet Calzaghe on his own turf.

"I like to fight the best. From what I see, they think Joe Calzaghe is really good. After Tito, my magnet is going to be putting me towards that direction. I'll go to England. They don't have to worry about where I come. They make it right and I'll go to England," Jones said.
