Trainer Freddie Roach recently gave his opinion on the upcoming light heavyweight battle between WBC champion Bernard Hopkins and mandatory contender Chad Dawson. The fight will happen on October 15th at Staples Center in Los Angeles. If Dawson can stay mentally focused and use his boxing skills, Roach believes the younger fighter has a good chance to upset the 46-year-old veteran.

"Chad Dawson is good boxer, Bernard is a craft guy. Dawson can he stay focused? We don't know. If he can, he could win. But if he can't, Bernard will eat him up," Roach said told OnTheGrind Boxing.

In the case of the upcoming welterweight fight between WBC champion Victor Ortiz and five division beltholder Floyd Mayweather Jr., Roach holds Mayweather as the obvious favorite to win, but gives Ortiz a shot to secure an upset with his strength and power.

"You have to favor Mayweather. Victor is a strong guy. You have to favor Mayweather, but Victor has a chance," Roach said.
