Perennial contender Randall Bailey will be in action on September 3 at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Miss., against an opponent to be named, but his eyes will be on the main event.
The 41-7 (36 KO) resident of Miami, Fla., has a lot to lose should anything happen to him since he's the mandatory challenger for the winner of the IBF welterweight showdown between German titlist Jan Zaveck (31-1, 18 KO) and Andre Berto (27-1, 21 KO), who like Bailey is promoted by Dibella Entertainment.
The 36-year-old Bailey hasn't fought since a highly controversial IBF title eliminator last December in Belgium against Said Ouali, where Ouali was dropped in the first round but was thrown out of the ring by Bailey, ending the fight in a No Contest.
"I really don't care [who wins]," said Bailey. "Berto should win, but I just want the winner."
As for his plans on September 3, Bailey said, "I'll get a little work in and scare the sh*t out of Berto and Zaveck."
