Junior welterweight contender Breidis Prescott disagrees with a recent statement that appeared on BoxingScene.com. According to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, WBA/IBF 140-pound champion Amir Khan might possibly possess the "best chin in boxing." In 2008, Prescott knocked Khan out in 54-seconds of the first round.
"He has the heart of a lion, and in the Maidana fight, he showed that he might have the best chin in the sport of boxing. He really is an all-round athlete and a first-class human being," Schaefer said.
Prescott is not impressed with Khan's ability to take a punch.
"When I read that, I spit out my water and fell out of my chair from laughing. That was one of the funniest statements that I've ever read. Khan's chin is made out of paper. He fought one puncher in the last three years and [Marcos] Maidana almost knocked him out with the first solid punch [in round ten]. He was lucky Maidana was tired and couldn't finish him off. He says nobody wants to fight him at 140-pounds. I'm right here. Maidana is here, Mike Alvarado, Jesse Vargas, Lucas Matthysse. He won't fight any of us. He will run to 147 to fight a punching bag like Matthew Hatton with feathers in his fists," Prescott said.
