Junior welterweight contender Amir "The Young Master" Imam (18-0, 15KOs) is one fight away from a world title opportunity.
The WBC has ordered newly crowned WBC champion Viktor "The Iceman" Postol (28-0, 12KOs) to make a mandatory defense against Imam.
Imam will return in a stay-busy fight on November 28th as part of the James DeGale-Lucien Bute undercard in Quebec. The card is televised by Showtime.
Postol captured the title with a sensational performance against Lucas Matthysse on October 3.
Per the WBC's rules, Postol is required to make two mandatory defenses.
Postol was approved for a voluntary defense, but the winner of that fight is required to make the first mandatory defense against Imam. The second mandatory challenger is to be determined.
