Mexican puncher Jose "Sugar" Salgado and Liborio Solís of Venezuela made weight at the Bicentennial Park in Tepic, Nayarit. In the presence of Francisco Piña, supervisor of the World Boxing Association, weighed 51,200 kg [112.8-pounds] Salgado, while Liborio Solis recorded 51,500 kg [113.5-pounds], both in their first attempt. Salgado (27-1, 24 KOs) and Solis (12-3-1, 7 KOs) battle for the WBA interim-super flyweight world title. The event is promoted by Canelo Promotions.

The other pair of candidates, battling for the interim- junior welterweight world title of the WBA, Fernando Castaneda (17-4-1, 11 KOs) and Johan Perez  (14-0-1, 11 KOs) came in at 139.9-pounds.
