WBC lightweight champion Edwin Valero (25-0, 25KOs) is ready for Saturday's title defense against Hector Velazquez (51-13-2) at El Nuevo Circo in Caracas, Venezuela. Valero is finishing up his training and preparing himself to make the weight. Beyond the defense againt Velazquez, he will face Antonio DeMarco on February 6 in Mexico.
"We are already a few days before the fight and that is why we getting in our work, working more smoothly, and not wearing ourselves out too much. We're almost ready, just have to get ready to make the weight, get down a little bit more and wait for the bell to start the fight and God willing we'll have the upper hand," Valero said.
