BoxingScene.com has been advised the promoter Gary Shaw has secured the rights to the mandatory fight between IBF junior welterweight champion Lamont Peterson and top-rated challenger Kendall Holt. Shaw, who promotes Holt, won the IBF's purse bid by dropping the minimum amount of $50,000.

Peterson (30-1, 15KOs) has been inactive since winning the IBF title from Amir Khan on December 10, 2011. Prior to a planned May rematch with Khan, Peterson tested positive for a banned form of testosterone and the fight was canceled.

Holt (28-5, 16KOs) lost a split decision to current WBC/WBA champion Danny Garcia last October, but returned in March to demolish Tim Coleman in two rounds. Holt was placed in position for Peterson after Zab Judah, the prior mandatory, elected to accept an offer to face Garcia on February 9th.
