The professional debut of British Olympian Pat Brown will come against a new opponent.

Brown, who stands 6-foot-6, fought as a heavyweight in the 2024 Olympics, where the 92kg weight limit is almost the same as the cruiserweight division’s 200lb limit in the paid ranks. And so the 25-year-old from Manchester, England, will compete as a cruiserweight when he steps between the ropes on March 28 at Planet Ice in nearby Altrincham.

His original opponent was 15-6-2 Vladimir Reznicek. Instead, Brown will now take on Federico Javier Grandone, according to DAZN.

Grandone, 7-4-2 (3 KOs), is listed at 6-foot-1 and therefore will give up five inches in height. The 33-year-old from Buenos Aires, Argentina, has lost four in a row. The first of those defeats came via seventh-round technical knockout to Yamil Peralta in March 2023; Peralta is viewed as a cruiserweight contender.

Grandone’s other losses were to the 8-1-1 Ivan Gabriel Garcia (TKO3); the 4-0 Salvador Nicolas Piccolo (UD6) and the 14-2-1 Eduardo Ezequiel Casalicchio (UD8).

DAZN’s stream of Brown-Grandone, which includes undercard fights, is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Eastern Time (7 p.m. GMT).
